“We are using the system primarily in our wrestling room, weight room, and locker rooms. We do periodically use it in our bathrooms (1x per month) just to address the smell caused by bacteria in the grout, etc. and in any classrooms where a case of pertussis, etc. may occur. We also use the unit in our Athletic Training Room. We always did a great job sanitizing our areas, but wanted that extra level of confidence. We did have a string of impetigo go through our schools the year we purchased the unit and have not had an outbreak since. Just a few isolated cases. Anytime we have an issue or need product, the company is very quick to respond and also provides additional product through purchasing incentives. When an Athletic Director is trying to secure his District’s support in the purchase of this item, make sure they get their Operations Director and Head Custodian on board. Once they see the unlimited areas this unit can be used to better sanitize and reduce labor hours, the District will quickly realize the unit pays for itself. We had an old bathroom that no mater how much or how thoroughly it was cleaned, the urine odor was always present. A half-hour of this machine running and the odor was gone. Our community also feels more at ease when we have skin disease, pertussis, mold, etc. issues because the use of this unit is communicated as part of our action plan to remedy the situation.”
“We made the purchase almost two years ago. We are currently using the Halo Disinfection System® in the fitness center, weight rooms, locker rooms, in the field houses and wrestling areas. Since using the product, we have not seen any significant breakouts. It is truly one of the best investments the school has made. In the 2018-2019 school year, we want to expand the use of the Halo Disinfection System® to include all of our health areas to combat flu or anything else that comes down the road.” Lehighton Area High School built a new field house in 2015-2016. They decided to move the football and soccer locker rooms into the new building. Facilities wanted to create a safe environment for both students, athletes and faculty. They were so successful and pleased with the results of the Halo Disinfection System® they invested in another machine to be used in middle school and the township athletic facility.
